Cuenca Club de Pesca

Bienvendidos to the Cuenca Fly Fisher’s Club

The Cuenca Fly Fisher’s Club  (CFFC) was founded in April of 2011 by James Drummondo and Kent and Susie Sawyer.  The club was established to unite fellow anglers, both expats and locals; our main objective being to gather and share information regarding fishing locations throughout Ecuador.
Though we are titled a fly fishing club, all anglers, and also those who wish to learn, are welcome.   We are happy to share the art of fly fishing and dedicated to promoting  safety and conservation through education and training.
The CFFC is a non-profit organization and runs solely on donations.  No membership dues are required.
The CFFC has quarterly meetings on or near the second Saturdays of November, February, May and August at various locations.  The meetings consist of general club information, specific fishing and safety instructions.
Come join us and talk fishing.  We’re all here to have a good time, meet new friends, catch a few fish and enjoy each other’s company.  We’re looking forward to seeing you at our next gathering.
Best Regards,
Bent Rods, Tight Loops, Light Tippits and Tight Lines,
James C. Drummondo

  1. Hi, i really enjoy flyfishing, The cajas national park is nice to practice some fly fishing. I`d like to go to one of your meetings some day to get involve a little more with you guys. I know pretty well The cajas national park as i go fishing almost every weekend ;) if you need more information about lakes im happy to help…….

  2. Hi….I heard that James sponsors flyfishing trips out of Cuenca. Can I get any detailed info on this? Also are there any trips planned to the oriental…..Thanks Steve

    • Yes, Steve. Due to the continuing requests we receive to take people fishing or provide gear, etc., James has started a guide service. It just gets to be too much to take everyone and it requires owning a car (which Kent and I do not). We currently have no trips planned to the Oriente, but James does indeed have a couple of nice places in the Cajas and around Cuenca to take day trips. I’ll keep you posted on any plans to go to the Oriente and/or connect you with anyone else we hear of who is going.
Meanwhile, guide service details can be obtained by writing to jcdrummondo@fastmail.fm
      Tight lines,
      -Susie
